The Photographer from the LACMA has released a clearer image of the ring

Look at THIS! It’s Angelina Jolie wearing a diamond ring! On her engagement finger! Yep, get ready to celebrate because Hollywood's golden couple are officially engaged. 'Yes, it's confirmed,' Pitt's manager Cynthia Pett-Dante said today. 'It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy. There’s no date set at this time.'

And what's the ring like? Big, sparkly and the culmination of a year-long collaboration between Brad Pitt and Angelina's long-term jewellery designer Robert Procop. ‘Throughout, Brad Pitt remained heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design process from the perfect cut of the diamond centerpiece - an elongated tablet shape - to the finishing touches such as the mounting of a galaxy of smaller stones which are graduated in size and faceted to match, adding a crowning lustre to the ring,’ says his office.

It makes sense. Procop has worked with Angelina Jolie for over a decade creating jewellery for on and off screen and at the end of 2010, the pair unveiled the ‘Style of Jolie’ – a collaborative jewellery collection, the proceeds from which benefit children in need around the world via Angelina Jolie’s charitable foundation the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict. So if Brad was going to choose anyone to design Ange’s ring – because let’s face it, that’s not going to be an easy task – he sounds like the right man for the job.

And we reckon Angelina loved it because the ring's tablet shape is very similar to one of the ranges Angelina co-designed with Procop. The Tablet collection, including the Green Beryl Earrings Angelina wore to The Tourist premiere, were inspired by a gift that Angelina asked Procop to create for Brad one Christmas – a tablet-faceted pendant containing a private message engraved by microscopic laser. All together now, ahh!

So can it be true? We’re still awaiting official word from the happy couple themselves but in the meantime let’s allow us to speculate on that wedding dress. Versace white satin, per chance?
