Comelec declares 27 official Senate candidates

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has named 27 aspirants as “official candidates” for the senatorial race on the May 2013 polls.

In the 16-page Resolution No. 9540, Comelec gave “due course” to the certificates of candidacy (CoC) of the following Senate hopefuls:

Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez explained the remaining 57 out of 84 total number of aspirants, who also filed CoCs on October 1 to 5, still need to prove their legitimacy before the poll body.

Comelec chairman Sixto Brillantes Jr. said the following “prospective candidates” have to attend hearings on 9 a.m., October 18.
