The action sports spectacle X Games is ready to roll in downtown Los Angeles, with Moto X, BMX, skateboard, Rally Cross, and other events scheduled from June 28-July 1.
More than 200 athletes will assemble, including the 11-year-old skateboarder Jagger Eaton on June 29 and the most feared driver in the world, Sebastien Loeb, in the Rally Cross on July 1.
A total of 21 hours of live competitive events will be telecast on ESPN, ESPN2, ABC-TV and ESPN 3D. The X Games are also streamed digitally at XGames.com and WatchESPN.com. Here are some schedule highlights:
June 28
After daytime eliminations, the events to catch are Moto X Freestyle at 6:30pm PT/9:30pm ET. Nate Adams defends his championship with Adam Jones and Dany Torres fighting for top spot.
June 29
Skate Big Air at 6 pm PT/9 pm ET features three-time Skate Big Air gold medalist Bob Burnquist, who installed a MegaRamp in his backyard. Veteran skateboarders compete this year with 11-year-old Jagger Eaton, the youngest ever competitor in the X Games, and Tom Schaar, age 12.
Also, at 1 pm local time is the Women's Skateboard Street Final and at 3 pm the BMX Street Final Event, following Skate Big Air and Moto X finals.
June 30
BMX Vert is at 5:30 pm PT/8:30 pm ET with legend Jamie Bestwick on a big winning streak with five gold medals, impressive at age 40. The Englishman is up against 2011 silver medalist Australia's Steve McCann. Catch them do triple tailwhips and no-handed 900s.
Rallycross racer Tanner Foust's world record is up against Hollywood stunt driver Greg Tracy in the Hot Wheels Double Loop Dare at 10 am PT/1 pm ET.
At 12:30 pm PT/3:30 pm ET is the SK8 Event, followed by BMX Vert Final and the Women's Moto X Racing with gold winner Vicki Golden facing Tarah Gieger.
Pierre Luc-Gagnon competes in Skate Vert with Alex Perelson and Mitchie Brusco at 6 pm PT/9 pm ET. Then Nate Adams in Moto X Speed & Style combines racing and freestyle against Carey Hart, who will retire after the weekend.
July 1
The RallyCross at 3 pm ET (noon local time) features 8-time world champion Sebastien Loeb of France in his Citroen challenged by NASCAR's Travis Pastrana in a Dodge Dart. This marks Loeb's first rallycross event in North America and his presence at X Games is a coup for American rally racing. A game not to miss.
Also, Skate Street champion Nyjah Huston defends his three-year winning streak and Taddy Blazusiak and Maria Forsberg take on Moto X Enduro X racingat 6 pm PT/9 pm ET.
