The White House Correspondent’s Dinner Last Night - See The Best Dressed here!

It was one of the most unexpected gathering of minds (and frocks) at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner last night, hosted by President Obama. As well as politicians and members of the press, A-listers came out in full force to join in what the Huffington Post endearingly nicknamed the "Oscars of Washington."

Highlights on the night included President Obama high-fiving Jimmy Kimmel, a pre-recorded skit of the presidents inner thoughts about the media which was played before his speech, but what we were really looking out for were the dresses – and the ladies did not disappoint.

Dakota Fanning dazzled in a floor length embellished gown from Prada while Kerry Washington colour popped in a beautiful long sleeved coral gown by Calvin Klein. Mega mother and daughter duo Kate Hudson and Goldie Hawn attended – Kate opting for a sparkling purple Jenny Packham sequined gown, while Ginnifer Goodwin opted for an eye-catching ruffled number from H&M’s Red Carpet Conscious collection.

Other highlights included Claire Danes in a white satin Vivienne Westwood dress. The star of Homelands was no doubt fairly pleased when Obama admitted it was his favourite show on TV! Scroll through our gallery to see more Best Dressed from the night including Zooey Deschanel in Oscar de la Renta, Eva Longoria in Marchesa and Charlize Theron in Emilio Pucci.
