ugg sparkles ugg bailey wedding
Holy footwear, fashion-fans! What’s this? Have Ugg, the cosy sheepskin boot company, secretly beloved of everyone from Carey Mulligan to Sarah Jessica Parker, launched a spangly new range of wedding-wear? Why – yes, they have.
Launching today in the USA, the collection (aptly named ‘I do’) comprises the sequined ‘Sparkles’ boot, the pearlescent ‘Bailey’ boot (above) and the ‘Fluff’ flip-flop (below) - for spring brides, of course. Each design comes in off-white, with a sparkly pastel blue sole, and with the ‘Bailey’ fastened by a giant Swarovski crystal button.
Now, although the designs will be available in the UK from next week - exclusively in the footwear brand’s new Piccadilly store, which opens on June 1st - for the discerning UK consumer, they come as part of the jubilee (rather than bridal) collection, although we imagine that piece of branding is not going to prevent some brides donning them on their big day.
So – the big question here is: would YOU wear them to your wedding? - we know that Uggs are possibly the comfiest shoes in the history of footwear (and we also know some of their new designs, like the brill printed wedges and mules are super chic). So is there absolutely nothing wrong with slipping on some super-cozy wedding-day Uggs on the way to and from the Church, or are they a crime so grave they threaten to undermine the sanctity of marriage itself? Discuss.
