With the fall season now in full swing, we who live in the tropics can look beyond the warmer, bulkier clothes designers have paraded down the runway. What we can focus on are the hair and make-up trends that we can adopt regardless of the season.
Here are a few hair trends that were spotted with the fall/winter collections:
Polished ponytails. Forget the haphazardly done ponys that even Hollywood stars have adopted in their downtime. This season, take a little time to get every hair in place for a polished, sophisticated look that will take you from day to night. Comb your hair and gather at the base of your neck and secure with a rubber band. For an extra clean look, add a bit of anti-frizz before you tie your hair. For an even sleeker ponytail, straighten your locks with a flat iron before tying.
Bed head without the volume. This look is all about being low-key and making close to no effort with your hair. This flat but textured look is great for girls with naturally thin hair. Just add a bit of texturizing paste or spray to your hair, scrunch up slightly (the crown should be flat) and you are done.
Twists and braids. Braids, knots and twists are all the rage this season. A simple, single side braid will look great for the office, while a French braid or fishtail will spruce up an outfit for an evening event. When it comes to knots and twists, anything goes! Just make sure you have hair pins and a finishing spray on hand.
Statement hair accessories. It’s big this season so it's time to take out those cute headbands, fascinators, and heavily embellished hair pins. Great headwear can be your statement piece and you can keep the rest of your outfit pretty basic.
