Scenes from a breastfeeding flash mob

On August 3, 2013, around 50 mothers with their babies, children, and husbands gathered together for a breastfeeding flash mob in order to raise awareness for a breastfeeding campaign, "Hakab na!" at the Rajah Sulayman Park in Manila.

The flash mob coincided with the celebration of Breastfeeding Awareness Month, which according to the website The Big Latch On aims to draw attention to the lack of "necessary support and benefits for breastfeeding mothers such as paid lactation breaks, rooms, and policies."

Despite the Expanded Breastfeeding Promotion Act of 2009, groups such as Breastfeeding Pinays believe that breastfeeding is a "national health crisis," and one that should garner more attention and awareness.
