Now, sleep mask that lets people control their dreams

London, May 21 (ANI): A duo of developers from Brooklyn, New York, has come up with a sleeping mask that lets people have lucid dreams that they can control.

The mask, which has been named as REMEE, looks like an ordinary sleeping mask but has been designed to steers sleeper into lucid dreaming by making the brain aware that it is dreaming, the Daily Mail reported.

The goal of the product is to allow people to have the dreams of their choice, from driving a race car to flying to having lunch with Abraham Lincoln.

The hi-tech invention is the pet project of Duncan Frazier and Steve McGuigan, who have also started a company named 'Bitbanger' Labs.

The two friends who have put up their project on the crowd funding website Kickstarter with the goal of raising 35,000 dollars, have already raked in more than 6,550 people pledged 572,891 dollars to fund Remee.

The sleep duration is categorised into two parts out of which REM stage is the longest one.

Moreover it is this stage where most of the dreaming occurs, lasting the longest towards morning.

The device which features six LED lights, produce a sequence, apparently notices the longer REM stages and 'enters' the dream via the flashing lights.

The device waits for four to five hours for the sleeper to get into the heavy REM stages before the red lights turn on.

Currently the masks are available in five colours and are priced at 95 dollars each.

Frazier has claimed that so far, they have received 7,000 orders, many of them coming from Australia, Italy and Spain. (ANI)
