Las Vegas inquiries up after release of Prince Harry naked pictures

Pictures published on Tuesday showing a naked Prince Harry partying with some of his friends in a hotel in Las Vegas have sparked a rise in the city's popularity as a travel destination.

Tour operators have reported increasing interest in Las Vegas as a tourist destination days after the pictures of Prince Harry naked were published. One of the photos published by the celebrity news website TMZ on Tuesday show Prince Harry standing naked against an undressed woman, while a second image appears to show him ‘bear-hugging' the woman next to a pool table.

Hotels.com has reported a 123 percent increase in the number of searches for Las Vegas in the 24 hours that followed the publication of the pictures, compared to the equivalent day in 2011.

Virgin Holidays told the Daily Mail that it had seen enquiries for trips to Las Vegas increase by 30 percent compared to the same week last year, which the tour operator is calling the "Prince Harry effect."

Other photos of Prince Harry's visit to Sin City have been published online. Some of them show the third in line to the throne relaxing with some friends at a swimming pool, wearing a 'let's get wild' t-shirt. Others show Harry looking at a blonde woman in a bikini at the MGM Grand's Wet Republic party.

The prince is believed to have stayed at a VIP suite at the Wynn Hotel. The naked pictures were apparently taken in a suite at the MGM Grand hotel.
