Kirsten Stewart's Red Eye: Yay Or Nay?

Kirsten Stewart's Red Eye: Yay Or Nay?

Kristen Stewart

We’ve pretty used to the old red-eye what with bi-annual fashion weeks to attend across the globe and beauty shoots in far flung destinations. But today we’ve been talking about a different kind of red-eye. One that’s more akin to the red carpet than the runway. Yep, we’re talking about none other than Kristen Stewart’s red eye, which made a vampire-esque appearance at her On The Road screening in NYC last night. Wearing another sheer-panelled ensemble that was the talk of the red carpet, the starlet’s red eye shadow really took us by surprise. Ok, she might be a vampire and all, but it’s a far cry from the sultry smoky eye she normally goes for. It’s got us debating all over again…

Red Is Right

Ok, so it’s a little controversial to go for this unusual eye shade but hey, there’s no denying that Kristen still looks hot, right? She makes her own rules as she goes which we find pretty cool and this red number is yet more proof that she’s capable of doing her own thing in her own way, and actually making it work. She’s cleverly gone for little else on the makeup front so as not to overcomplicate her beauty look and the festive touch of red really suits her ark eye colour. We like that she’s moved away from the classic smoky eye, which although works on all fronts, can be a little boring when you see it day-in-day-out on the Hollywood glitterati. Eagles don’t flock eh…

Red Is Wrong

If there’s one colour in the whole of the makeup world that you’re told to stay away from, it’s red. Red is for ill people who are tired and sick and whose eyes look like they should be hiding behind an oversized pair of Tom Ford sunnies. Red is alarming (and not in a good way) and not one that’s exactly going to pull the boys, nor is it flattering to tell you the truth – zombie springs to mind in fact. She looks like she could have got her younger sister to do her makeup for her with the colour she’s gone for. Red should be saved for your lips and tips, where it works best, and not on the lids where it turns you into an ugly, unattractive looking beauty disaster. Sorry Kristen…
