How perfectly adorable is this of-the-moment photograph of Kirsten Dunst and Kristen Stewart in Cannes yesterday ahead of the debut of their soon-to-be-released film On The Road?
Kristen looks super cool and marginally less formidable than she usually does with that casual but glossy blow-dry and round black glasses, while Kirsten’s ethereal, side-parted up-do is just a delight. We love just about everything about it, from the chic side part, abundance of flyaways and that way that it is framed so flawlessly with that Dolce & Gabbana metal work headband.

As it so happens, in this week’s Grazia beauty section we hero this season’s most youthful summer ‘do’ in the form of the halo hair trend. And guess what it’s not altogether unlike the style picked by Kirsten yesterday. The trend began at the much-talked-about spring/summer 2012 Valentino show, where beauty editors swooned at the halo braids wrapped around model’s heads, before racing to their nearest hairdresser. Then before too long it had appeared perched atop the heads Scarlet Johansson and model du jour Poppy Delavigne too.
Backstage stylist supreme Guido Palau, who just so happens to be the man behind the Valentino braid, explains exactly why these ethereal styles are so appealing and youth inducing; ‘This style’s huge appeal lies in the fact that it captures the perfect balance between effortless chic and Hollywood glamour…The secret to success lies in creating a roughed-up texture and embracing flyaways so it isn’t too perfect.’
What are your thought on this brand new breed of hair and will you be giving it a go?
