Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling is planning to pen a long-anticipated encyclopedia covering the universe of her best-selling series, according to comments she made in the FAQ section of her newly relaunched website.
"For a long time I have been promising an encyclopaedia of Harry's world, and I have started work on this -- some of it forms the new content in Pottermore," said Rowling. "It is likely to be a time-consuming job, but when finished I shall donate all royalties to charity."
In 2008 Rowling won a lawsuit over the publication of an unofficial Harry Potter encyclopedia; the text of the lawsuit said the book was "in direct contravention to Ms. Rowling's repeatedly stated intention to publish her own companion books to the series."
Rowling is meanwhile set to publish her first novel for adults on September 27 worldwide. Casual Vacancy reportedly tells the "blackly comic" story of a parish council election in a fictional English town.
