Grazia Gets Festival Ready - Top Tips From Ferne Cotton, Mulberry And More!

You’ve got your tickets ready and ordered your Hunter wellies months ago. But now festival season is well and truly upon us – huzzah! – it’s time to get packed. And just to make sure you don’t miss a thing, we’ve asked a few festively-educated celebs to put together their best tips for surviving the glorious wet British weather, looking festival fashion FIT and, well, just having a flipping good time. Lists at the ready…

Fearne Cotton

‘No matter how hot it is during the day, it’ll be freezing at night, so bring layers and clothes that are super comfy. Playsuits are perfect for the last day when you’re tired and groggy. Baby wipes and dry shampoo are essential, too. And make-up-wise, go for the trashy look – loads of eyeliner.’

MTV presenter Louise Roe

'I always take a stack of rose gold Monica Vinader bracelets, because their threads are colourful and boho enough to pass as festival-garb, but sparkly enough to also be chic. My new go-to for cute comfy tops is Boden. Their taupe and cream striped breton is preppy and awesome, and looks gorge tucked into high-waisted cut-offs from Urban Outfitters and finished off with red Hunter Wellies (my fave colour for boots this festival season.)

'One of the most annoying things is make-up – especially foundation. But try Nanoblur – it’s a miracle serum meaning you can go (almost) bare-faced. Genius!'

'Don't even attempt to set foot on British festival territory without a pair of wellingtons you adore. The clouds can erupt with wet excitement at any time. I'm happy that hunter have introduced a bronze welly to their metallic range, after my mate has stolen my gold ones.

'And my secret weapon? Glitter is like war paint, it'll keep you going, you should apply so much that by the end of the festival it is in your pants.'

Emma Hill, creative director of Mulberry

'My essential festival item is a great, easy-to-throw-on bag. We’ve reinvented two classic styles for the new season - given them an update with fantastic studded tassels and rivet-studded trim for a rock 'n' roll festival edge! They're also a great shape and perfect size for survival essentials.'

'Bring get up that's warm, wet-proof and glam, and feel the love. Pack some wild capes or glitter jackets so your friends can find you in a crowd and you can feel special even knee deep in mud. I go for Stevie Nicks hair (c/o Batiste dry shampoo), always carry wetwipes (for all your festival needs) and a couple of Topshop glitter eyeliner pens for adding that touch of late night magic.'
