Expert fashion and beauty advice

Tips that the pros swear by.

We asked TV personalities and fashion and beauty experts what advice they live by and what their favorite products are.  Here's what they have to say:

Shawn Yao, TV News Anchor, Host
Best Beauty advice: Sleep+Water+Good Food (and good is not necessarily what’s “yummy”)
Best Fashion advice: If you're in doubt, doubt.
Fashion no-no: There are no rules to fashion, or so I'd like to think.
Beauty no-no: Expired make-up, dirty brushes, sharing false eyelashes
Favorite beauty product: Argan Oil, Leyende and Human Nature products products. I try to go chemical free as much as possible.
Article of clothing I can't live without: white shirt and jeans.

Amina Aranaz-Alunan, Designer and owner of Aranaz bags, Founder of School of Fashion and the Arts
Best beauty advice: Less is more. The less you apply in terms of products and makeup the better. Don't tamper with your skin with a multitude of products.
Best fashion advice: Be true to yourself. It will influence your fashion choices when you know yourself.
Beauty no-no: Going to bed with makeup on
Fashion no-no: Never say never!
Favorite beauty product: Concealer!
Article of clothing I can’t live without: High Heels

Jigs Mayuga, Celebrity Make-Up Artist
Best beauty advice: From the great, late Shu Uemura- “Beautiful makeup starts with beautiful skin" so taking care of the skin before makeup has always been a must for me.
Beauty no-no: Never sleep with makeup on and never curl your lashes with mascara.
Favorite beauty product: MAC's strobe cream as a base under foundation. It's the secret to glowing skin.

Cesca Litton, Model, Host
Best beauty advice: Always use SPF. I use moisturizer with SPF.
Best fashion advice: Find what suits you, what you're comfortable with and experiment from there, don't give in to every single trend.
Beauty no-no: Sleeping with make up on! Never ever sleep with make up on! No matter how drunk or exhausted you are drag yourself to the sink and wash your face before you sleep. Don't forget to brush your teeth too.
Favorite beauty product: Lip balm-with SPF of course.
Article of clothing I can’t live without: And I can't live without my ripped up denim shorts. They go with everything.

Bianca Valerio, Model, TV Host, Columnist, Author, Personality Development Coach
Best beauty advice: Always choose to be happy: No amount of blush or highlighter can ever replace one's inner glow.
Best fashion advice: Dressing based on your body type rather than trends is the key to a polished look.
Beauty no-no: Never ever go to sleep without doing your nightly regimen first - make-up or no make-up!
Fashion no-no: Never wear white undies under white or light-colored fabrics! Nude tones are your friend.
Article of clothing I can’t live without: Seamless nude thongs are the stuff of legend: Now you see it. Now you don't!
Favorite beauty product: Concealer. Just a dab of that baby and you look revived, refreshed and ready to stay up another night, haha!
