Emmy Nominations Are In: Zooey Deschanel, Claire Danes, Nicole Kidman and Downton Abbey In The Running

You all know we love any sort of awards do. Not only do we get to celebrate some of the finest talent around (yes, we're referring to actual skills here) but it's a fabulous opportunity to ogle, drool and rage with envy over the super stylings hitting the red carpet.

It's no surprise that we were pretty excited when the nominations for the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced yesterday. Some of our most favourite tv shows ever have been recognised for their sheer awesomeness along with their extremely talented stars. Armando Iannucci's Veep, which has had us in fits for the past three weeks is nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series alongside Girls, created by and starring Lena Dunham who is also up for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. It's not hit our screens in the UK just yet but don't worry, it's coming very soon and we know you are going to LOVE IT.

Our favourite fringed girl du jour Zooey Deschanel is also up for Lead Actress for playing Jess in New Girl and it should come as no surprise that Mad Men's Elizabeth Moss and Christina Hendricks also scooped up nominations.

And our very own Downton Abbey is whipping up a storm with Michelle Dockery aka Lady Mary, Joanne Froggatt, the lovely Anna and the series as a whole being recognised in the Drama category. Go Granthams!

The awards take place on 23rd September (and frankly, we just can't wait that long to see what everyone will be wearing. So, we've put together a gallery full to the brim of fashion frothiness as we take a look at what the nominees have worn recently on the red carpet.

And if that wasn't enough, here are some of our favourite moments from the shows so far - you know, because we're nice like that!
