You Drive Me Crazy

Hey girls! Is that what your car would tell you if only it could talk? Don’t worry, we’ve gathered practical tips for women on how to take good care of your trusty vehicle.

1. Use fresh orange peel as freshener, cut into pieces to look more like potpourri. Also watch out for unusual car odor, it may be a sign that something’s wrong with your car.

2. Avoid spillage in the car when you go grocery shopping with old newspapers. Lay the papers first on your car trunk or floor before stashing the grocery bags.

3. Think twice before you make that drive-thru. Do not eat inside your car (especially while driving), no matter how tempting. Not only does it attract pests, it’s also very unsafe.

4. If your adorable pet must ride with you, make sure you have a portable vacuum cleaner handy. It would also be good to wrap your darling in a blanket to prevent its fur from shedding.

5. Cars are women’s second closets. Keep yours organized by storing a shoe organizer and a garment bag so that there’s still room for passengers.

6. Make it a habit to check your tires before getting into your car. Look up your car’s manual for the proper tire pressure and stick to that when you get your tires air-filled.

(Here's a list of top automobile service centers to keep your cars in tip-top shape.)

7. Do no turn on the air conditioning (AC) the moment you start your engine. Wait for at least five minutes because racing your car’s engine during start-up will add years of wear to it.

8. Have your car windows tinted to protect you and your car interiors from the sun’s UV rays. The tint also provides privacy and may save you from harm for it would be difficult to detect who’s driving as women are often seen as easy prey.

9. As much as possible, gas up from the same reputable fuel brand every time to fully utilize the gasoline’s premium quality. You’ll immediately notice your car’s improved drivability.

10. Always be prepared with first aid and emergency kits in your car. Restock them with necessities such as bandages, cotton balls, isopropyl alcohol, bottled water, flashlight, batteries, warning triangle, tow rope, blanket, adhesive tape, scissors, and cash.

11. Keep a notebook and pen to track your gas fill-ups, mileage, engine oil checkups, power steering fluid, water pump, AC, battery, and radiator conditions, and other important auto-related services you’ve had. It’s better to be OC than sorry.

12. Prevention is always better than cure, get your car (as well as yourself) insured. Look for a stable and reliable insurance company which can have your car fully repaired or replaced after damage or loss.
