Dita Von Teese Reveals The Inspiration Behind Her Self-Titled Fragrance

Dita Von Teese Launches Her Own Self-Titled Fragrance And We Love It!

We lurve Dita Von Teese! It’s been a long love affair, right from the days when she was on the arm of Marilyn Manson (doesn’t that seem like yonks ago?) to the recent images of her strutting her stuff at Coachella. Yep, we really do have rather a soft spot for that glamour puss. So it really made our day to hear that Miss von Teese is set to launch her own perfume and yesterday, she arrived in London to give us a sniff. Naturallement, Dita looked her fabulously pale-skinned self at the launch at Liberty in London wearing a teal green floor-length gown, statement red lip and her signature ebony waves. She accessorised with a selection of dapper young models, who we took rather a liking to!

Dita’s self-titled scent comes in the most beauteous of bottle - black and vintage-inspired with an old-school spritzer nozzle, it’s the epitome of Hollywood chic just like the burlesque babe herself. So how did she come up with the scent? “I was walking down the street in Paris with my boyfriend, who I’d been dating for two weeks when he asked me what perfume I wear," Dita explained. "When I told him the name of the fragrance he kind of hesitated and revealed that this was his mother’s perfume”. Yikes!

“This really got me, because I really didn’t want him to associate my smell with his mother, but on the other hand this perfume was perfect and iconic for me, it fitted me perfectly and it was mysterious and unknown to everyone I met until that day. I started hunting for other fragrances that could replace it and there were some which I really liked, but none of them felt like the real me and fitted me. So I decide to create my own scent and this was a dream come true.” Aw, how we love a happy ending.
