Concept iPhone 5 video causes buzz: viral video spotlight

What if Siri could detect when your iPhone had been stolen and disable it? A new video by AatmaStudio has imagined just this situation and has quickly grabbed the attention of internet users.

The video titled "Siri Hidden Feature on iPhone 5" imagines Apple's artificial intelligence program Siri disabling an iPhone by cracking the screen after the wrong password is entered three times in a row, rendering the phone useless to the thief.

The parody video was uploaded to YouTube on April 27 and, as of April 30, had gained over 121,000 views, been shared extensively on Facebook and been featured on websites such as phonesreview.com, Brazilian site iPodschool.com and 9to5iPhone.com.

The video also generated buzz on Google+ where, on April 30, it drove "IPhone" towards the top of the trending topics.

YouTube statistics show that the video was most popular with men aged from 13-44 living in the United States, Canada, India, Denmark and Australia.

Concept videos for iPhones are frequently popular on YouTube: in August 2011 before the release of the iPhone 4s a video titled "iPhone 5 Concept Features" which imagined the phone having a holographic display went viral and now has over 50 million views.
