From the start make your bridesmaids feel special by allowing them to play an active part in the planning and decisions around their roles and dresses. Make it clear to them that their opinion counts and is important to you. Don’t forget that your bridesmaids are no doubt all different shapes and sizes, so letting them lead in what they want will help in keeping them happy and relaxed. Give each one of them some attention and time to tell you what they like and would feel comfortable in to ensure no one is bullied into someone else’s favourite dress.

Surprise make over for your bridesmaids

Surprise your bridesmaids with a treat on the day like getting their hair, nails or makeup done if this wasn’t already planned in. Spoiling them to a relaxing massage or facial a few days before the big day will make them feel special and appreciated by you.

Three cheers for the bridesmaids

It is traditional for the best man to toast the bridesmaids, but why not make them feel extra special by providing him with little bits of information on each one? Perhaps they need thanking for arranging the bridal shower or collecting the wedding flowers. Better still, why not break with tradition and do your own toast so that you can make your thank you even more personal and heartfelt.

A gift for your bridesmaids

Traditionally the bridesmaids will receive a gift from the bride and groom as a thank you for all their help in planning the wedding and on the big day. Make this even more personal by getting each bridesmaid a different gift to show her you have put time and thought into the gift. Alternatively, you could buy the same gift but in each bridesmaid’s favourite colour, or have jewellery engraved with a personal message. For an extra special touch get each bridesmaid a bottle of her favourite perfume.

A special thank you for your bridesmaids

If your bridesmaids have really been your little angels through the tough planning and nerves then why not treat them all, and you, to a spa day together?
