Beauty to go

Make-up application tips whether you have 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes to spare.

Thinkstock PhotoMake-up application need not be a time-consuming, bothersome activity.   Although there are still those that prefer going completely au naturel, a lot of women nowadays don’t mind making a little bit of effort to enhance their features, while some simply don’t have the time.

Here are a few tips whether you have thirty minutes to primp or only five.

If you have five minutes:
If you only have a handful of minutes to spare, work on two things, namely your cheeks and your eyebrows.  Apply a bit of cream or gel blush to bare skin and fill in your eyebrows with a pencil of powder brow liner.  If you keep lip balm in your bag, you can quickly swipe it on while in transit.

Key Products: The Body Shop brow Definer, Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush, ChapStick in Cherry.

If you have ten minutes:
Ten minutes will buy you a little more time in the beautifying department.  With this time, you can apply foundation where needed (under your eyes, on lids and anywhere you have blemishes),  Set your base with pressed or loose powder, fill in your eyebrows, apply blush to the apples of your cheeks, apply a coat of mascara and put on some lip balm or gloss.

Key Products: L’Oreal True Match Foundation, Fanny Serrano Powder Blush in  Gold Peach, Maybelline Volum’express Hypercurl Mascara.

If you have fifteen minutes:
In fifteen minutes, allow yourself to breathe a little bit as you have loads of time.  Apply your foundation where needed, set it with powder, fix your eyebrows, apply your blush but before you put on mascara, line your eyes with a gel, or kohl eye liner and extend very slightly on the outer corner of your eyes.  Add a bit of gold shimmer on the inner corners of your eyes and finally finish it off with mascara.  Before you head out, swipe on a little of your favorite gloss for day, or lipstick for night.

Key products: Ever Bilena eye liner in Black, M.A.C. eye shadow in Gold Mine and Fashion 21 Aqualicious lipstick in Persian Peach.

If you have thirty minutes:
If you wake up earlier than usual or find yourself with a little more time than expected, then go all out!  Start with a primer to keep your skin matte and flawless all day.  Follow it with foundation where needed and a bit of gel or cream blush.  Set it with powder and apply a light layer of powder blush in the same color family to intensify the shade. Apply your gold eye shadow all over your eyelids until the crease and follow with a dark brown shade on the lower half of your lids only.  Blend well so there are no divisions between colors. Line your upper eyelids and a quarter of your lower lids with gel or kohl liner and apply mascara.  Fix your eyebrows with a pencil or powder eye brow product and finish your look with high lights on your cheekbones and lip color.

Key products: Nars blush in orgasm, Laura Mercier Primer, MUD eye shadow in Brownstone.
