AnnaSophia Robb Dishes On The '80s Fashion In 'The Carrie Diaries'

The Young Carrie Bradshaw Talks Fashion And Erm, Farting!

The brilliant Fashionista caught up with AnnaSophia Robb at the Ferragamo exhibition of Marilyn Monroe in Florence this week and obviously grilled her on being the young Carrie Bradshaw. The entire fashion world is suddenly taking notice of the girl who began her acting career in Charlie And The Chocolate Factory (remember her as bubblegum munching Violet Beauregarde?). “To be introduced into the fashion world via Ferragamo is such an honour," she said. "And I love their clothes and their shoes. Ferragamo is one of the most elegant brands out there.”

The Young Carrie Bradshaw Talks Fashion And Erm, Farting!

So with the countdown to the Sex and the City prequel officially on, we can’t contain our excitement! The Carrie Diaries is set in Ms Bradshaw’s high school during her senior year in early ‘80s New York, and you know what that means? Some amazing costumes! The neon hair scrunchies, the Madonna references, the polka-dot and signature Carrie-curls, Gossip Girl’s costume designer Eric Daman has a wonderful wardrobe lined up for the young Carrie.

'The fashion’s going to be amazing but it will definitely have a different flavour than the original Sex and the City because it’s for a younger audience. But I really hope to make Carrie Diaries the Sex and the City of my generation,' says the blonde starlet.

When asked what her favorite episode from Sex And The City was, AnnaSophie replied, “Um, I think The Drought is my favorite episode. It’s the one where she farts in bed and she’s mortified and it’s just so real and I love it.” We reckon with such a great sense of humour, ASR is going to make a wonderful little SJP!
