When purchasing something, it is always better to go for quality rather than quantity. More often than not, you get what you pay for.
The same goes for certain types of food. While your neighborhood turo-turo is good for hearty, home-cooked meals, you can’t expect it to offer you, say, sushi. (And if it did, wouldn’t you be a bit scared?)
Because sushi relies on freshness and quality, you know you’ll need to go to a place where these qualities are guaranteed. Often, this comes at a higher price tag.
Occasionally, you can get lucky and find a place that promises quality for a price lower than usual.

Which is the great thing about the Fast and Furious buffet at Umu, Dusit Thani Manila’s Japanese restaurant. It offers good quality sushi, sashimi, robatayaki and shabu-shabu, plus unlimited sake for an unbelievable price of roughly P900 per person.
For one hour, you can feast on sausage, chicken, mixed vegetable, shrimp and squid skewers, warm your tummy with beef shabu-shabu and enjoy an assortment of sushi such as spicy tuna maki, California maki and tuna and salmon nigiri, among others.
Your mind may tell you that an hour seems short, but based on my personal experience, it is just right. There is constantly something on the grill and you will never see the sushi station empty.
If you want to replenish your sake supply, simply request for more from one of the servers.
For the rest of the month of July, you and your friends can experience a different kind of happy hour via the Fast and Furious buffet which is available everyday from 6-10 p.m. at Umu Japanese restaurant, Dusit Thani Manila. Call 867-3333 for a table reservation.
